Skyline

Whoftaa life there for a second got busy, well that mixed with me losing ambition to do anything.
I do however start my new job on Wednesday. Last week was full of me doing computer work and orientations... Not so fun but look at the view I get to enjoy everyday from work!

This is the view from the tram that I take up the hill. It's a really calm and nice way to start the day at least.  I am super happy to have gotten this job the pay and benefits are amazing because it is a state job. Not so thrilled that I'll be a cashier in the gift shops and cafes in the hospital, but I will eventually move up to being a Barista!
Things are beginning to look up and I can't really complain about that.

Also I found this really inspiring video over at Stay The Ride, called Caine's Arcade.
It put a huge smile on my face for the day and I hope it does the same for you.

Friday Obsession

Hey all it's Friday!
So I thought I'd start the weekend off right with my
weekly Friday Obsession.

So I just moved back to Portland, OR and Scott is now in the Navy reserves so we are finally able to dig in some roots! I can't explain how happy I'am about this!
I've never had my own place that I could really do whatever I wanted to. Always had room mates to think of .. Not that I ignore Scott's opinion, he just honestly doesn't care as long as he has room for his computers.
I've been intrigued and inspired by small space dwellings for some time now as well as earth domes. Mostly because I think modern homes are getting far to large and thus we buy far too much to fill them up. I don't know about you, but I don't want my things to own me and when I find myself with a lot of possessions I tend to make decisions based on my stuff. No matter your choice in size, the style of your home should speak of who you are. And on that note, here are some homes and decor that inspire me!

Small space living cabin style

I found these on Pinterest the other day and love the bottom right chair

Air plants and Succulents are quite in now.. and I whole heartily agree

A bathmat that's made of moss... YES

Room with windows all around

Color can always help make a space

I so want to do this DIY project, medicine cabinet out of a vintage suitcase

Tea cup lighting for the dinning room, Pinkies up

More small space living, I love how organized everything has to be to make use of the space

A shipping container home, love love, love

Well I hope this leaves you inspired!
What are some of your latest obsessions?

Food take me away?

I will always love food too  much... Seriously though food is so ingrained into my very being. The whole part about needing it to live might have something to do with it... Or it might have something to do with being raised a nomad. Constantly moving all over this continent as a child, and now as an adult being  partners with a Navy man, things haven't be able to settle. But I'll always have food to make me feel all warm and cozy like a family home can feel.
So fest your eyes on some warm and cozy meal ideas that wont leave you feeling to guilty in the morning.

1. Spicy Curried Quinoa Wrap with mint, peas and Tahini-Avocado-Citrus Slaw
2. Sweet potato ravioli with pecans and herb brown butter sauce
3. Orange glazed tempeh with kale and brown rice

Later tonight I will attempt to make the orange glazed tempeh! Will report pictures and details.

Indulge- Johnny Rose

Back In Coffee Land

I'm back at it this thing with a new perspective. Yes I did go through and delete a few post, essentially I was unhappy with where this was going, so change it right?
I'am back in Portland ready to get things going...

But first let me grab my coffee!
At my favorite spot of course
The Albina Press off of N. Albina in the Mississippi district.
It's a bit of a trek for me now that I no longer live 2 houses down from it but I will always find my way back here. I recommend a mocha, best I've ever had (in the middle).
